Shira Raviv Schwartz

Shira Raviv Schwartz is an educational advocate for North Shore Educational Advocacy. Shira completed her undergraduate degree at Indiana University, Bloomington. After college, she lived in Israel for 5 years where she completed a Master's in Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Returning to the US, Shira moved to the Chicago area and completed a second Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Loyola University of Chicago.

During her 20 + years in education, Shira has worked in 3 different Chicago area schools and is certified in SLANT, an Orton Gillingham structured literacy program. Shira has extensive experience working with students with various learning styles and is intuitive about their educational needs in and out of the classroom. A life-long learner, Shira regularly participates in professional development in the area of educational advocacy and educational law.

Advocating for her own children's learning needs and founding the North Shore Learning Disabilities Awareness Group, Shira has developed a solid understanding of the kinds of supports children need and how to obtain appropriate educational service. She provides invaluable insights to help parents be their child's best advocate.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Shira enjoys traveling with her family, running and spending summers working with children and young adults at Camp Ramah Darom.
