Amy Herzog is an independent college consultant and co-owner of North Shore College Consulting. Amy completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration, Cum Laude, from Ross School of Business. She then attended Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where she received a Juris Doctor, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Prior to becoming an independent college consultant, Amy was a practicing estate planning attorney at a large Chicago law firm for many years.
Amy received a Certificate of College Counseling with distinction from UCLA, undergoing a rigorous curriculum and a required hand’s on internship experience necessary to develop professional competency. In order to stay current on the ever-changing trends in college counseling and admissions, Amy frequently participates in professional conferences, seminars, webinars and email listservs. Amy is a member of the three national college consulting organizations, NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling), HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association), and a Professional Member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association), allowing her to develop and maintain professional contacts with college consultants from across the country. Additionally, Amy volunteers her time to College Bound Opportunities to mentor and counsel first-generation college students throughout the college admission process. Serving students throughout Chicago’s North Shore, Amy is knowledgeable and passionate about current college admissions trends and practices. Amy is also dedicated to visiting college and universities across the country in order to gain first-hand knowledge of each school.
A life-long resident of Highland Park, Amy enjoys spending her free time with her four kids, her husband, her family and her friends. In her free time, Amy enjoys walking or running with friends.
